I have been around grassski since 1995, when I took it as a suitable supplement to alpine skiing - there was little opportunity to travel for snow on the glacier as well as the possibility of training in the gates. Gradually, mainly due to almost unlimited training possibilities near the home, grass skiing became my main sport.
And that we started with the production of parts and later also whole grass skis was only thanks to the producers at that time...when I needed to order racing skis it meant to order at least half a year in advance, then the skis bought had to be dismantled, modified, polished and assembled again. When something broke and it cracked all the time, it was always a problem to get spare parts in time. That's why my dad was looking for producing new parts. Other racers noticed that, and so it all slowly started.
In 1999, we switched to the skis produced by Austrian manufacturer Balek, who was able to deliver skis and parts more reliably but they did cost a lot of money. Parts that we had made for Czech skis, we started to produce for Austrian ski and slowly added more and more parts to our production.
Since 2018 I have stopped active racing and devoted myself to my own children, son Matyáš started skiing on grass at the age of 8 years. The following winter confirms the good effect of summer training on winter results.
Our production facilities
We are constantly trying to improve and innovate our production and machines, and even though it is a small-scale manual production, we are trying to add modern elements and computer control to achieve the best features and high quality.
From our machinery only the bigger machines in short:
- Arburg ALLROUNDER 221 M 350-75 Injection Molding Machine
- CNC lathe Mazak QT-6 with Hydrafeed bar feeder
- CNC hobby milling machine - 3 axes
- 2x CO2 laser
- 1x FiberLaser
- 2x CNC profile bending machine
- Mechanical 20t Press
- bottom wood cutter
- computer controlled profile grinding machine
There are parts and components that we buy from local suppliers and manufacturers such as profile profiles or plastics or textile straps. But otherwise everything we produce and process ourselves in order to ensure production control and flexibility in innovation.
